SAPS establish task team to probe minibus taxi shootings in Mthatha
A task team that involves detectives and others has been put on in Mthatha after the taxi violence that has been going on for over two months. Over the past few weeks more than 5 people have been killed. This is alarming in the Mthatha town because passengers have to think twoce before getting onto a taxi.
Policemen have been investing the murder and taxi violence said the Captain Dineo Koena. They now urge the taxi drivers to go with their issues to the police station instead of trying to solve them with murder and violence. No one has been arrested of yet and anyone who has information about these killings is asked to contact Captain Xolile Mdepa on 082 319 8754

Taxi drivers are known almost everywhere, they believe in solving these issues by themselves.
ReplyDeletei think it's time for goverment to intervene and have some laws relating to the taxis maybe this violence could decrease.
I doubt the individuals who have knowledge about the murders would be willing to go and say anything to the police.
ReplyDeletePolice fail to do their job and they arrive late, I think tax drivers are doing well to protect themselves.
ReplyDeleteTaxi drivers need to consider the worth of people's lives... thus violence won't solve anything.
